Marilyn Boyd Obituary

Marilyn Janet Boyd

1936 - 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Marilyn Janet Boyd, who died at her home in Indio, CA, June 16th, surrounded by loving family. Marilyn fought her battle with Cancer courageously to the very end and is now in the peaceful presence of her Lord. We will miss her very much, but her love will remain in our hearts forever. Marilyn loved life and lived it well. She volunteered for the Rape, Crisis Team, was founding member and President of California's first Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Police, and retired from the City of Indio after more than two decades as confidential Secretary to the Chief of Police, the City Manager, and the City Council. She was honored by the Soroptimist Int'l of Coachella Valley as "Women Making A Difference".

Marilyn Janet Boyd is survived by her son Richard Kerr of La Quinta, and a loving family. Marilyn would encourage you to cherish those around you, and be grateful for each day. A donation to your favorite charity in her name is suggested. There will be a Celebration of Life planned for a future date.
