Michael Devlin Obituary
- - Michael E Devlin died Feb.17, 2019 at the Veteran Medical Center in Loma Linda, due to cancer. He is survived by his wife, 3 children, and a grandson.
Born in Chicago 1948, however Mike spent his youth in North Vernon, Indiana. He graduated from Shawe Memorial High School, Madison, Kentucky in 1966. Mike enlisted in the Army in 1968, serving in Viet Nam. He returned to New Haven, CT to the induction center serving out his last year.
Mike enrolled in Vincennes University, IN, and then onto ISU, Terre Haute, IN where he received his Bachelor's degree in Marketing in 1975.
Upon graduation, he moved to Washington D.C. obtaining a position with the Washington Hilton Hotel, as Asist. Food & Bev. Mgr. He was then transferred to the Phila.Hilton, residing in Blackwood, NJ for 10 yrs.
In 1990, Mike accepted a corporate transfer to the Palm Springs, Wyndham Hotel. They bought a home in the South end of town. He soon opened a business, Discount Restaurant Supply, in Palm Springs which operated for many years. In 2009, he accepted a position with the Bureau of Indian Affairs where he worked up until his death.
A funeral will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on May 20th at 2:15 p.m. Gathering at VFW, Palm Springs after 5 pm.

To the wife and children of Mike Devlin please forgive me as it has been a long time and I have forgotten everyone's name. This is jimmy Edwards, a long time friend of Mikes and a guy that Mike gave my first job to at the Hilton Hotel in philly. I also followed Mike over to the new Franklin Plaza where he hired me there as well. I just wanted to say how tremendously saddened I am to see this news. I pray for the rest of mikes family and I also pray that GOD grants them the strength to understand and continue to live and to enjoy their lives as best as possible!! He was a fair and honest man and I had not had a boss as kind as he was till this day. I am still at the hotel that mike hired me at some 40 years later and I truly thank him for giving a high schooler an opportunity of a lifetime!!! RIP My Good friend and until GOD reunites us all one day in the house of the almighty!!! MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE ENTIRE DELVIN HOME!! GOD BLESS U ALL!!

With Michaels leadership we were successful on the Basic Hygiene Training for young Native Americans on and off the reservations
