My big brother PLT.
He was the greatest in so many ways. I sure enjoyed all the good times we had in Texas. He was a guy you could look up to and depend on any time. I'm so happy that I got to be with him in his last months. I will miss you always. Your little brother Rudy & Family

Pop was a "larger than life" guy. We had so much fun with him every time we were together. Skiing, fishing, motorcycle riding, or eating his great barbecue chicken, he kept up with all of us kids all the way, when he wasn't leading the way. No one could ask for a better Father-In-Law (FIL) was my nickname for him sometimes. We had a great visit a short time ago and told each other how we felt about the other, great love and respect on both sides. I will miss him forever. What great memories!

Grandpa always made an impression on me. From teaching me how to filet trout, to haircuts or even watching Loony Tunes. Some of my best memories are from him and I will always remember how he influenced me and always put a smile on my face. I deeply miss and will always love my Grandpa T.

Ed and I were always so thrilled when Tommy and Mildred came to town. We had many nice evenings visiting. Tommy was such a special person and we enjoyed every minute of conversation with him. He will be sadly missed by all of us; but, we find comfort in the fact that he is not suffering anymore and he is at rest. Our thoughts are with Mildred and family at this time.

Jo and Tommy are special people. They always make you feel welcome and comfortable. I remember Tommy best from when Josh and I moved to Texas and stayed with Jeanne and Eddie. We were always included in family get togethers. I'll always remember visiting with them in the mobile home park - it was so peaceful and fun at the same time. Tommy will totally be missed. My prayers are with Jo, Eddie, Donnie and family. With Love

Looking back over the years the couple of things I'll always remember about grandpa is his BBQ chicken, and showing up in the RV visiting the family. I love you and miss you grandpa.

Dear Don and Maureen, I extend my love and sympathy to both of you, your dear Mother, Don, and all of your family. My mind's eye is going back to happier times when Eugene and I were included in your great celebrations at Thanksgivings and Christmases, and were surrounded by your beloved family and numerous friends! Your Dad and Mother, Don, were always the center of happy and exhilerating conversational circles involving people of all ages. Your parents showed much joy and contentment, keeping up with the young people and their 'high tech" interests! We "olders" usually were served in the "grand dining room" sharing stories of "our times" and found much in common and much to laugh about. Those were great times for all of us, and an example of living life to it's fullest. And that means without regrets, but not without pain. The pain comes from the joy of having lived well and the price is well worth the pain. My love to all of you. Take care of one another and love each other and each day. Love, Jeanne

My last "sighting" of my cousin Paul was at a family reunion in the late 80's--but his letters to my Mom, my brother, and me always entertained and kept us up-to-date. Paul and I shared a birthdate along with our Thompson heritage. We'll miss him very much.

My condolences to family and friends who knew and loved Uncle Tommy. Uncle Tommy celebrated life. I am happy he had a long happy life because I've only known him for the last 15 years. Fortunately I have had the opportunity to get to know him, his extended family and many friends well. Celebrating in life together with family and friends was his priority and he has blessed so many of us with many fond memories we will hold within our hearts forever. Thank you Thompson for the letters, love, happiness, good times, laughter, wisdom, cute sayings and wonderful memories you have shared with me and my family.

After seeing that Uncle Tommy had arrived to a party, you knew you were in the right place!! Thank you Uncle Tommy for teaching us all how to enjoy life and take it how it comes. You managed to make it look so much easier than the rest of us.

Tommy was the best friend and neighbor I've ever had!..I met Tommy and Jo in 1978 when I moved to Grapevine, Texas and instantly liked him.

His big friendly smile and booming voice, which could be heard three blocks away, always brought a smile to me! He was always available to help a neighbor or lend an ear and offer advice from the heart! He quickly became a second dad to me.

I learned alot from Tommy about gardening, mechanics, home maintenance, life and how to barbeque chicken to his specs!

He had a wonderful laugh, great sense of humor and was an incredible practical joker. One spring he took his fertilizer spreader and put his initials in my yard....when the grass started growing there were huge green letters in the lawn...P L T for all the neighborhood to see!

I will miss Tommy but take solace in knowing that heaven is a brighter place with him there!

My love and sympathies to Jo, Ed and Don and all the Thompson family at this difficult time.

Uncle Tommy was my favorite uncle. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here today (because of a small incident on the Arkansas River in Colorado in the early 1950's). I will miss seeing him every Saturday, the parties with friends and family, and the great fishing trips over the years. He was one of a kind and he made everyones life richer that came into contact with him. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him, especially me, but the memories he leaves behind will forever be in our hearts and minds. I love you "PLT".

I remember so much about Uncle Tommy. I remember his wonderful hand written letters that came straight from his heart to me and my family. I remember his yeeeap, and and shrug, and "love you too." I remember his big plastic cup on those hot afternoons and those wonderful custom shirts that Aunti M. made for him. I remember his gardens and all the wonderful times we spent over a BBQ talking about the science behind growing and preparing the foods... Didn't matter where any of us were, as long as family was together.

My Uncle Tommy was a rare person who was able to breath in the sweetness of life and love it and all of us who were a part of it. He was a teacher and was always a joy to me and I will always treasure the lessons in leadership and the gift of love that he so generously shared with me.

He influenced my life in a very meaningful way. I will never forget him. He will aways be an inspiration and he will aways be in my heart.

It is sad to learn that the oldest member of the Thompson family has passed on. I remember the first time we met, when I took one look at Paul and thought that I would have recognized him as a Thompson in any group. He looked so much like my grandfather, Sam Thompson. I remember bringing my mother, Juanita Reed, to visit you and we both admired your incredible garden. To Mildred; you are in my prayers.

So few of the Thompson cousins left. I have fond memories of the Thompson reunions.

We will miss our dear friend Tommy very much. He and Mildred along with their family became very close to us, as a result of our dear friends Marianna and Ruth, Mildred's sisters.

I will always remember Tommy, sitting in front of their lovely home, wearing a neat cap, with his very salty CPO insignia.

Tommy was a very caring and great person. We will miss him very much, but are thankful for many nice memories we had down in the Desert with Family.

I know that our Lord has a nice boatspace for the Chief Motor Machinist Mate!

I will miss hearing my grandfather's voice from my backyard. He was a great man, great fisherman, always loved to win at dice, and a heck of a garden grower. I'll never forget you grandpa. P.S. I'll never take any wooden nickles either.

My Dad was Paul's cousin Carl Thompson and I have fond memories of Paul and Mildred from when I was a teenager. We drove from our home in Phoenix to spend the night with them and go to the Rose Bowl Parade. I loved the big lazy susan they had in the middle of the kitchen table. My mom and dad had some great visits with them over the years and were always excitied to share their experiences with me.
