Peggy Fitzhenry Obituary
Peggy Fitzhenry, 76 years old, passed away on January 22 in Rancho Mirage. She fought a long and hard battle with COPD. Peggy was the only child of Florence Fitzhenry Morgan and Donald Herman. She was born in Chicago Heights, Ill. where she attended school. Peggy graduated from Prairie State College. She was a very independent person and a leader among women by breaking into a man's world to become the first Chicago Police Woman. After an injury forced her early retirement she moved to the Coachella Valley. Her second career began when she joined Palm Springs Unified School District as a Security Officer at Cathedral City High School. Peggy loved Pepsi, chocolate, cupcakes, pizza and her 4 grand babies. She is survived by her Goddaughter, Dr. Kailee Watson (Trent) and their Children, Kennedy and Lincoln Ritter and her two little guys, Troy and Alik Watson (Las Vegas, NV). She will be missed by her life long friends, Joyce Bishop of Chicago, Denise Watson, Indian Wells and Arlene McDonald, Thousand Palms. Memorial Service for Peggy is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peggy's favorite charity, Alzheimer's Foundation.

RIP Peggy. We have known you since the mid 80s. Your passion,independence, fire and loyality to students and good friends both at PSHS and CCHS will never be forgotten. I'll remember the thanksgivings you spent with our family, the crazy fun friends we shared and all the fun escapades we shared in the 90. Never matched ...you always supported us and went along with our craziness. I'll always remember your laugh. I'm glad I got to see you and catch up two years ago.
