Quentin Sickels Obituary

Quentin Brian Sickels

Palm Desert - Quentin Brian Sickels of Palm Desert, California, passed away on April 24, 2018.

He was born December 21, 1926 to Fred and Lois (Barker) Sickels in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Quentin graduated from Benton Harbor High School where he was All-State Tackle and played on the State Champion football team. He also was chief petty officer of the local Sea Scouts. Quentin graduated from the University of Michigan where he played varsity football for four years and starred in the 1948 Rose Bowl. He also served in the United States Coast Guard in 1945-46 with tours in the Pacific.

In his later years, he reconnected with JoAnn Dart of Palm Desert, whom he had met at the '48 Rose Bowl. He was a member of the Sun City Yacht Club.

He is survived by his three children; four grandchildren, one great, grandson, and his sister Nancy. Quentin is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Duane, and JoAnn.
