He served in the United States Navy in World War II.
He is survived by his wife Pearl; four children, Mark Hoyt of Covington, Wash., Myles Hoyt of Honolulu, Hawaii, Clark Hoyt and his wife Jennie of Ventura and Stephanie Hoyt Mokler and her husband Jim of Fort Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will deeply miss the "Ole Phart."
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Bob Hoyt's name to The American Diabetes Association, or www.anti-smoking.org/donations/emphysema.
