I was lucky enough to have Bummer for a friend since childhood. And although the years and miles can separate many of us, the thoughts of those in our development and school years remain close. I believe the last time I was fortunate enough to see and visit with Bummer was at a Class of 1973 reunion. It was very nice to see his smile and receive his warm greeting, just as if we were kids again.
Also upon hearing this news, my mother phoned me and was also deeply saddened. She reminded me of the times she would find Bummer on our front door steps at 7 a.m. waiting for me to get ready to come outside and go play ball. And I remember playing at the Gross house doing what kids do. The Gross family treated me very well. Roland, I know your family and this world will miss you very much. But Bummer, you will always be in my memories and I rest assured the Lord has a very good plan for you.

I was saddened to hear of Bummers passing as I also graduated from Williston 1973.We all seemed to go different directions but I had heard from friends that he had passed, my prayers are with his family and friends. It sounds like Bummer did a great deal of good with his time here on earth for that you can all be so proud. He truly lived his life, not existed, relieving peoples pain, holistic health and a true Humanitary, who would have thought the guy with the mischievous grin would leave such an imprint on the lives of so many. God Bless and I hope you all find comfort in all the good he did! I am sure his two sons, grandchildren were the light of his life. You are in our prayers.

I also was in the class of 1973 with Bummer. He was a great guy and fun to be around. I have not seen him in so many years, but the thought of him still brings a smile to my face. I will keep the family in my prayers. He was always kind and willing to help if you needed him. Rest in peace, Bummer. We will miss you.

I have known (Bummer) from almost the day we were born, are parents were best friends infact we were to be born on the same day but I could not wait. His grandparents were my godparents. we went every year of school together. And also church school. (Bummer) was his nick name and will always be that. No one know him by Roland. He was funny, cute and just a great guy. I have not seen him in a long while, but I will cherish all the good times we had growing up In Williston ND. We first met Roland when he started helping my husband with his aching back from golfing so many years. We later found out that he lived down the street from us. We instantly became friends as well as neighbors. As soon as I met him, I knew that he was a very dear-hearted person and so kind and thoughtful. He'd always had a smile and had so many nice things to say about his family. He adored our baby girl and loved to see her. It's a shame that he is no longer with us and we will miss his honk as he'd drive by our home every night. Roland, we keep you and your family in our prayers and always remember you and your help with Brad's back. You did wonders! We love you and will always keep you in our hearts.
