Roy Minter Obituary
Roy Allan Minter, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2016 with his family by his side.
He is survived by: Sons: Robert, Tim and Douglas and daughter Linda Bass, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by: his son Dale and parents Roy and Urith.
Allan's younger days were filled with working in his parents store, fishing and having as much fun as possible. Allan's first job after leaving high school was at T. Eaton's department store in Vancouver which he left to work at BC Electric, starting as a meter reader and retiring as a sales promotion coordinator.
After his retirement you could either find Allan on the Sunshine Coast where he spent time with friends and family in the cottage he built with his son's and friends help. Or you could find Allan at his home in Palm Desert, California soaking up the sun among good friends and good times.
Allan was active in many community organizations; the Sonic Lodges, Lions Club, Boy Scouts, Shriner's and being the honorary Captain of Vancouver for a short time.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.
Interment to follow at Valley View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Roy may be made to a charity of your choice.

We have fond memories of Al, especially Peter,spending time at the cabin and Palm Desert. He was very good to us as otherwise we could not have afforded the holidays in California. Very sorry to hear of his passing, all the best to the family as you remember your dad.

To the Minter family sorry to hear the passing of your Dad. I recall dropping by the house on MINTER street visiting with Tim and numerous buddies and thinking what a cool Dad he was.
