Toby Griffiths Obituary
Palm Desert - A much loved brother, uncle, and friend, Toby James Griffiths, 66, passed away peacefully in his home in Palm Desert, CA, on March 17, 2019. He was born in Arlington, MA, on May 11, 1952.
He is survived by his sister, Robin Lee Russell, of Bryant, AR, his niece, Jennifer McGinness (Matthew) of Benton, AR, and their children, Audrey and John. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Jess Griffiths and Catherine Jean Griffiths of Brea, CA.
Toby's family moved to Fullerton, CA, in 1954. He graduated from Brea Olinda High School in 1970 and continued his education at Cal State Fullerton, graduating with a degree in English. He was an avid writer of short stories and poems, and he loved music and reading. Toby spent his time traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing golf. He loved his job and coworkers at Papa Dan's Italian restaurant. Toby never met a stranger and enjoyed helping others.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

Best Friend away back in the Vietnam days. WE listened to a numbered White Album on the day it was released along with Ericson. Toby was one of the few people who welcomed a Canadian one I moved to Brea. sorry to hear his passing.

A great dude - and one of the few who welcomed me as a Canadian at Brea Olinda High School. Away back in the Vietnam days...Toby and I had many a great time. I was sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Toby my friend
