William Bausman Guffey

1930 - 2010

William Bausman Guffey, 80, of Palm Desert, Calif. passed away November 2, 2010 in Palm Desert, Calif. He was born June 18, 1930 to Champ and Estella Guffey in Freeport, Ill. He was an electronic engineer for 33 years. He was a member of Sun City Men's Putters, Couple's Putters and Men's Niners. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1951 to December 1954. William is survived by his wife, Shirley Guffey of Palm Desert, Calif.; his daughter Dee Ann Guffey of Wildwood, Mo.; his sons, Jeff Guffey of Laguna Niguel, Calif. and Brett Guffey of Vancouver, Wash.; and his sister, Mary Bardell of Apple Valley, Calif. He was a very proud grandfather to Sean, Rachel, Ryan, Erica and Jackson. Celebration of Life will be at 12:30 p.m., November 7, 2010 at Mountain View Clubhouse in Sun City Palm Desert in the "Ventana Room". Inurnment will be at a later date at Chapel Hill, Freeport, Ill. Forest Lawn of Palm Desert, Calif. is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
