Alfred Thyssen Obituary

September 16, 1926 - March 2, 2010

Alfred Thyssen, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his home in College Station.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, at College Station City Cemetery.

Alfred was born on September 16, 1926, in Danevang to Carl and Ida Thyssen. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Imogean Thyssen, three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Betty Barroso of Houston, Sharron Thyssen-Gibson and husband, Vince, of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Gerda Stuart of Austin, Dagmar Ricketts of Houston, and Ingeborg William of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren, Chris and Tony Barroso, Michelle Rodriquez, Amberlin and Jimmy Gibson III; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Danish Heritage Preservation Society, P.O. Box 386, Danevang, Texas 77432.
