Alta Loper Obituary

September 8, 1937 - November 4, 2016

Alta Marie (West) Loper, 79, of Franklin, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Liberty Cemetery in Milano, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 11, at Memorial Funeral Home of Hearne.

Ms. Loper was born September 8, 1937, in Maysfield, Texas to Mattie Marie Miller West and Samuel Jackson West. She was a cook for many years and also an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Billy Carl Andrews; and brothers, Travis Jerry, Donald and Lloyd West.

Survivors include her children, Ray Gilbert and wife, Kathy of Grandbury, Mary Fisher and husband, Stephen of Ekron, Kentucky, Charles Andrews of Whitney, Texas, Janet Andrews of Tacoma, Washington, Carolyn Bomnskie of Franklin, Michael "Pete" Loper and wife, Mariah of Denton, Christopher Andrews and wife, Heather of Troy, Texas; her sisters, Violet West of Franklin, Shirley Davis of Bryan, and Dora Anne Mabe of Bryan; along with numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, other loving family and friends.
