Deborah Duncan Obituary

Deborah Duncan

February 15, 1956 - August 4, 2021

Debbie was born on February 15, 1956 to Joe E. Martin and Marjorie Josephine (Williams) Cardon in El Paso, Texas. Following graduation from Radford in El Paso, she met and married Ernest Paul Landry in the Spring of 1981. Together they had their only child, Travis.

Debbie spent her early career as a title and escrow specialist and eventually worked for First American Title in California. Later, she became a counselor for a Crisis Stabilization Unit in Arizona. During her time in Arizona, she took a risk and studied to become a certified Massage Therapist. In her words, it was her biggest personal achievement. She eventually moved to College Station in 2011 to be closer to her brother, Joe.

Debbie had a life-long passion for cooking; something she learned from her mother and grandmother. She loved and looked up to them both in many ways. She spent many hours in the kitchen recreating family recipes. She also enjoyed discovering new ones from books, magazines, and the Food Network. She was a great cook.

She answered to many names: Deb, Debbie, DeeDee, but her most favorite was Granny Dee. She loved putting together and sending holiday packages to her three grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe; her mother, Marjorie; and her step-father, Bill Cardon. She is survived by her brothers, Joe (Julie) Martin of College Station, Shon (Jean) Cardon of San Antonio, Bill (Marie) Cardon of Arlington; her sister, Dawn (Harry) Terrill of California; her son, Travis (Whitney) Landry of Utah; and three grandchildren, Luke, Kate, and Mae.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2814 Welsh Avenue, College Station, Texas on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Humane Society in honor of Debbie's love for animals.
