Dianne Miles Obituary
August 27, 1938 - December 7, 2023
Dianne Miles, 85, of College Station, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2023.
Dianne was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on August 27, 1938 to John and Madeline Wise. The oldest of three girls, she grew up in Woodworth, LA and graduated from Lecompte High School. She attended Baylor University for one year and received her degree in Elementary Education form LSU where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
She met her husband, Bruce, at the local swimming hole in 1958. They were engaged on Christmas Eve 1960 and married in their local church on June 4, 1961. After living in various small towns in East Texas, Dianne and Bruce moved to College Station in 1968 where they raised their four children.
Dianne was an active member of the First Baptist Church in College Station for over 40 years. She volunteered in the food pantry, was a children's Sunday School teacher, and served in the Discovery program of international women. As a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was fond of genealogy research. She enjoyed a myriad of other activities and hobbies including cooking, bowling, playing dominoes, reading, her beloved cats, her tight-knit dinner club, and cheering on the Aggies at A&M sporting events.
Later in life, her passion was to travel the world with family and friends. An adventurous person, some of her favorite places to visit included Egypt, Italy, Greece, Russia, China, Turkey, and Peru.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bruce Miles.
Dianne is survived by her four children, Kara Stockton, Andrea Connell, Laurie Terrell, and Michael Miles; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gayle Blasingame and Linda Young.
A Visitation will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hillier of COLLEGE STATION, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am.
