Dorothy Carter of Montgomery, Texas formally of Bryan passed away July 3, 2021. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 16, in the chapel of Daniel & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be at Clay Cemetery in Clay Texas.
Dorothy was born July 5, 1948 in Clay, Texas to John Perry Whiting, Sr. and Amanda Whiting. She graduated from Lamar University and was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Avis Munson; two brothers, John Perry Whiting, Jr., and Mackelroy Whiting.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Carter; two sons, Xavier Carter (Christine) and Wesley Carter; one daughter, Kristine Carter; a brother, Reginald; a sister, Alberta Collins; and one grandson, Ethan Carter.
