Elizabeth Adams Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Adams

December 27, 1937 - April 4, 2023

Elizabeth Jane Adams was born December 27, 1937, and passed away peacefully on April 4, 2023, at the Waterford Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in College Station, Texas.

Jane was the most caring, compassionate, and gentle soul, always displaying a kindness and compassion not often seen in the world today.

Jane grew up in Bryan, Texas, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1956. She was a tomboy and loved to work with her dad with any kind of fixing-up and building, but she mostly enjoyed just being outside. She always endeavored to be "fit as a fiddle."

In 1957, she married Earl Glynn Adams and they spent many loving years together until his passing in January of 2001. They were members of Brazos County React and responded to major fire and police emergencies to assist as needed even though she worked full-time as a bank secretary.

A Christian, she was a member of North View Baptist Church of Bryan and loved to sing gospel hymns. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and followed His example of looking to the needs of others. She always went out of her way to talk with her neighbors and lend a helping hand; Jane will be remembered by so many for her kindness to others.

She has been reunited with her husband of 44 years, Earl Glynn Adams; parents, Archie Thurston Mooney and Eda Bell Arrington Mooney; and brother, Jack Mooney.

Jane is survived by her son, Donald "Donnie" Glynn Adams; granddaughter, Cheyenne Adams; brother, Robert Mooney and wife, Jean of San Marcos and daughters, Cynthia Jean Conyers (Rick) and Sandra Jane Cook (Craig).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northview Baptist Church, 1809 Tabor Road, Bryan, Texas 77803.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., on April 15, 2023, at Old Bethel Cemetery, 5661 Hardy Weedon Rd., College Station, TX 77845. The service will be officiated by Darrin Thane.

As a child, my family attended Northview Baptist Church where Jane Mooney, and my sister, Jennie Lou Lovell were friends. Jane´s mother was one of my Sunday School teachers. So many precious memories. As a teenager, I worked at the Producers Co op Locker Plant where Earl Adams also worked as a meat processor. Jane worked at the Bryan Building and Loan. We would see each other from time to time about town. She has always held a place in my heart because she was my sister´s friend.

Will always remember over 40 barbie doll outfits she made me and coordinated accessories for each in their on box. She had a talent in her sewing skills.
