F. C. "Caddo" Wright, passed away on March 19, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home, 1420 Main Street in Lubbock on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 902 Main Street in Junction, Texas on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.

He was born August 21, 1922 in Kimble County to Nell Taylor and Omer C. Wright. He had one brother, James Henry "Jim" Wright who passed away in January 2002 in Junction, Texas.

Caddo was reared in Kimble County and graduated from Junction High School in 1939. He attended Texas A&M College and received his B. S. degree in Agriculture from that institution in1943. While at Texas A&M, Caddo was a member of the school's first rodeo team. That team won a national rodeo championship in 1941.

After graduation from A&M, Caddo was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and served in the European Theater from 1943 through 1946 as a combat engineer in General George Patton's Third Army.

He and Molly Cavaness married in 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. Molly died in 1986. Their only child Ann Wright Hodge lives with her husband Byron W. Hodge in Del Rio, Texas. He married Olga Hendrick Borden in 1987.

Caddo began his career in the agricultural field in 1946 in Brenham, Texas selling veterinary supplies for Dr. Rogers. He moved to San Marcos in 1951 where he worked for I. C. Little at Green Valley Farms. He was a feed specialist for Burris Feed Mills in Fort Worth from 1957 to 1959. In 1959, he moved to Ballinger where he owned and operated Wright Feed and Supply with his cousin James Earl Barr. In 1969, Caddo moved to Lubbock to manage the livestock feed manufacturing plant for Godbold, Inc. While at Godbold, he became President of the company and remained there until his retirement in 1993.

Caddo was a Rotarian for 40 years, serving as President of the Southwest Rotary Club in Lubbock in 1975. He was a Paul Harris recipient. He was a Master Mason for 60 years, and a life member of the Texas Thoroughbred Association. Caddo served on the boards of the American Bank of Commerce, Marion Moss Enterprises, the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University, the 12th Man Foundation and the College of Agriculture Development Council at Texas A&M University. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Rafters Sunday school Class in Lubbock.

Caddo was known for his affable personality, his loyalty to friends, family, and Texas A&M University, and his ability to tell stories about life experiences. To those with whom he worked, he was valued for his leadership, his dependability, his friendship, and his positive attitude. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a good man. We are diminished by his passing.

Caddo is survived by his wife, Olga Hendrick Borden Wright of Lubbock; daughter, Ann Wright Hodge of Del Rio; stepsons, Barry Borden of Charlotte, North Carolina and Bob Borden of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren, Shay Wright Scruggs of College Station, Texas, Jessica Hodge of Ownings Mills, Maryland, Roger Hodge of Brooklyn, New York, Tracy Geor of Auchland, New Zealand, Myla Borden and Peter Borden of Santa Fe, New Mexico; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

The Wright clan was unique to say the lest. I always enjoyed hearing Caddo's and Bob's stories about their younger years. It was obvious they had much love for their families, past and present. I hope you will continue to pass their legacies on to your future generations. They will be missed by many.

My dad has known Caddo since 1946 when he opened Key Feed Store in Robert Lee. They worked together for many years from when Caddo sold him Vet supplies in 1946 all the way through years later at Godbold. He thought the world of Caddo. My brother also worked for Caddo at Goldbold while he was going to Texas Tech. Our entire family is saddened for your loss. Unfortunately, we will not be able to make it to the funeral in Junction, but wanted you to know you will all be in our thoughts and prayers. We were sorry to learn of Caddo's death.
Caddo and Judge Fuller and their wives were mainstays of our Texas A&M College of Agriculture Development Council and those of us on the Council were blessed by knowing them and hearing their stories and experiencing their love for A&M and the support they gave to the students there. Their passing leaves a hole in our Council membership but is filled with a multitude of good memories and we pray God's best for their Families.
