Mrs. Jeanette O'Brien Schertz, 82, of Bryan, Texas died peacefully on Monday, June 5th.
Jeanette passed away at Silverado Senior Center in Plano, TX with all of her children by her side. Services are set for Friday June 9th at 3:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Center in College Station, TX.
Jeanette was born and raised in Ithaca, New York and lived most of her married life in Bryan, Texas. She was a homemaker and mother of six children, all of whom graduated from Texas A&M University. Jeanette Schertz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in College Station. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Keith F. Schertz who worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Soil and Crop Sciences Department at Texas A&M University.
Survivors include four sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law, Philip Schertz of College Station, Greg Schertz of Denver, Colo., Mary and Jerry Huffman of Akron, Ohio, Peter Schertz and Andrea Avantaggio of Durango, Colo., Paul and Kathy Schertz of Aloha, Ore. and Laura Krum of Coppell, Tex.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Quasey of Coraopolis, PA and Betty and Larry Brown of Jamestown, New York; and nine grand children.
