Juanita Marie (Snowden) Scott, 89, of Elgin, passed away August 9, 2014 at her home. The family received guests from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 11, at Elgin Funeral Home, Elgin, Texas. A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12 at First Baptist Church of Elgin with Pastor Dwyte Reagan officiating. Interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery.
Juanita Marie Snowden Scott was born February 17, 1925 to Otreo and Mary Doreen Bragg Snowden in a private home on Wilbarger Creek in Bastrop County. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Abner C. Scott.
Survivors include her son, William H. Scott and his wife Linda; daughter, Sandra S. Freitag; four grandchildren, Shelley Scott Cotten and husband Dean, Shannon Mogonye-Ray, David Scott Mogonye, Sherrill Mogonye Crisp and her husband Casey; five great-grandchildren, Lindy and Brooke Cotten, Aaron Ruddell and his wife Amanda, Jason Mogonye, James Ray; and her special great, great-grandson, Carson Ruddell with another great, great-grandson on the way.
