Melvin Eubanks Obituary
Melvin D. Eubanks, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at First Baptist Church in Johnson City with the Rev. Kebirn Rush officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Creek Cemetery. Friends are welcome to pay their respects from 12 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City.
He was born in San Antonio, to Sam Houston Eubanks and Fannie (Kerby) Eubanks. Melvin graduated from High School in Gonzales, Texas and later joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. He proudly served his country during WWII in the CBI and South Pacific campaigns.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Claude K. Eubanks.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Parrish Eubanks; daughters, Lynn Hendricks and husband, Bert, of Houston and Catherine Lloyd and husband, Gregory, of San Diego; sister, Dolly J. Bingham and husband, Sterling, of Bryan; brothers, Andrew M. Eubanks and wife, Geneva, of Bryan and Huard "Doc" Eubanks and wife, Gail, of Houston.
