Michael was born on Nov. 7, 1959 to Harold V. and Wilma Shilling at Camp Pendleton in California. He graduated from University High School in Waco, TX. The oilfield life was calling him, he enjoyed 35 years in the oilfields with 19 of those in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He always called it his home away from home. He touched many lives while there not knowing how much he was loved until he became ill. He had a huge Alaskan family there. He was dreaming of going back to be there with his boys. He would get the biggest smile whenever he talked about the oilfield and would talk hours on end. He loved his life here, but he also loved that life.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Harold V. Shilling.
Michael leaves behind: his loving wife of 19 years, Carmen; sons, Michael V. Shilling, Jr., Douglas Fuentes and wife Lindsey, Barry Milazzo and wife Nichole, Rickie Milazzo and wife Misty; daughters, Nicole Sweed and husband Steven, Alexis Nicole and husband Christian Gainsbrugh; his mother, Wilma Shilling; brothers, Bobby Shilling and wife Gloria, James Dale and wife Michelle, and 10 grandchildren. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
