Pamela Kay Paceley, 62, passed away suddenly July 12, 2021 in Bryan, TX. She will be honored privately by her family.
Born December 15, 1958 in Amarillo, TX to Bobby and Gail (Walker) Smith, Pamela grew up the child of an Airforce airman and called many places home. She graduated in 1977, from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, TX.
After high school, Pam took pride in working for Southwest Airlines and Avis. She married Eugene Stalbird and they had two children, Ashley and Evan. Although their marriage ended after six years, she and Gene remained good friends. After moving to Bryan, Pam met Royce Paceley and he quickly became step-dad to Ashley and Evan and father to Pam's third child, Heather. Royce and Pamela were married on December 31, 1994 for 26 years.
In Pam's early life she enjoyed dancing to the beat of her own drum mainly to classic rock, but could find joy in all genres. She had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh, some of her favorite shows included, "I Love Lucy" and "The Andy Griffith Show". She really enjoyed cooking and passed that love of cooking on to her children. The famous cheesecake always shows up at all family functions. Pam really took to animals and she always had cats and a dog by her side. She was proud of her children.
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Bobby W. Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Royce M. Paceley of Bryan; daughter, Ashley (Matthew) Coates of Albuquerque, NM; son, Evan (Sarah) Stalbird of College Station, TX; and daughter, Heather (Ray) Silva of Bryan, TX; her mother, Gail Jane Smith of Bryan; sisters, Vicki Tribble and Ginger (Troy) Pivonka, both of Bryan; and her grandchildren, Allison and Eli Coates, and Scarlett and Xabi Silva.
