CWO4, retired, Patrick Dennison Liggett, 87, former resident of Normangee & College Station, died at his home in Southport, FL, Thursday, 21 September 2017 of natural causes. Private family services will be planned for a later date.
He was born fourth of ten children to Milford George "Bill" and Mildred Sella "Peg" Rada Liggett on 03 Jul 1930 in Stamford, SD.
Living a full life of adventure, he was aided for 20 years by the Army/Air Force. Retiring at only 37, he worked with Nu-Way Oil and managed an airport in Roseburg, OR. When life's circumstances brought him to Texas, he met and married the love of his life, Helen. Together in their later years they forged a bond with Sand Prairie Church, whose followers he missed every day after leaving, due to his declining health. Patrick never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting and visiting with people from all walks of life. He developed a deep faith over the course of his lifetime and enjoyed studying God's word and discussing it.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Beverly Jean Liggett & Carol Ann Liggett Jackson; Earl Lewis Liggett, Wayne Arthur Liggett, Larry Guen Liggett & David George Liggett; and stepdaughter, Ramona Darce Cornett.
Those left to miss him include his wife of 41 years, Helen F. Liggett; daughter, Terry (Jeff Lynn) Elliott; son, Ronald (Jeri) Liggett; step-daughters, Wanda (David) Jentry & Becky Darce; stepson in-law, Larry Cornett; grandson, Patrick (Jenny) Lang; brothers, Robert Liggett and Bruce Liggett; sister, Marjorie Riddle; step-grandchildren, who he loved as his own, Kylee & Darce Markowsky, Cassie Elliott (Bill), Emily (Kristen) Elliott, Morgan Elliott (Cassy), Logan (Colby) Dougherty, Michael & Marin Harper, Melissa (Tyler) Schmeil, Helen Jentry, Rebecca Heflin, Kelly Heflin & numerous great-grandchildren.
In memory of Patrick, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.
