Robert Dorsey Obituary

May 25, 1947 - February 2, 2018

Robert Andrew Dorsey, 70, of Bryan, Texas passed away February 2, 2018 at home with his family in attendance. Visitation will be at McCauley's Funeral Home, Franklin, TX, 11:00am – 8:00pm Monday with a Rosary at 5:00pm. The funeral will be at St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin at 1:00pm on Tuesday, with burial immediately following at the Wheelock Cemetery.

Robert was born in Bryan, Texas on May 25, 1947 to Andrew and Elsie Dorsey. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, and then entered the Navy as a sonarman. After his discharge, he attended Blinn College, and then moved to Houma, LA to work in the towboat industry as an engineer and tankerman for 29 years. He then moved back to Bryan and went to work for the City of Bryan until he retired.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Andrew Joseph Dorsey, his mother, Elsie Tillie Dorsey, nephew, Robert Alan Thielemann, nephew, Chris Gerdes, mother-in-law, Angelica Rojas, sister-in-law Elenita Rojas, nephew Jake Rojas nieces Dora Rojas and Dana Mae Rojas.

Robert is survived by his wife, Susana Rojas Dorsey, his daughter, Tabitha Nicole (Carlos) Ledesma, grandson, Ronan Edward Ledesma, and two sisters, Nancy (Edgar) Thielemann and Marie (John) Gerdes, along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Enrique Rojas, brothers-in-law Enrique Rojas, Jr., Jorge Rojas, Joaquin Rojas, Ruben Rojas, and Felix Rojas and their families.
