Shirley Bilsing, of Normangee, passed away March 17, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at First Methodist Church in Normangee. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville will handle the arrangements.

Shirley was born in Moose Lake, Minnesota, at the family farm. She graduated from Maplewood Academy at the age of 16. She loaded up her car and spent the next couple of years traveling and working. She arrived in Bryan, Texas around 1954, settled there and became a diehard Texan. She met Mark Tenalio, who was stationed at the Air Force Base, and they married in 1956. They had a son, Steve who was born in 1958. Shortly after, they separated and divorced. She then met the love of her life, Dr. W. A. Bilsing II (Bo). They later married and had a daughter, Cindy who added to their growing family.

Shirley attended University of Texas Medical School in Galveston and earned a nursing degree. She attended SHSTC earning a bachelor teaching degree and later TAMU earning a master's degree in English. She faithfully attended her children and grandchildren's special events, sports activities, and many other special moments. She loved when all her family gathered for July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was Past Matron of Normangee #87 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a faithful Masonic wife, supporting Bo in all his Masonic activities.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with them.

Shirley was preceded in death by an infant sister, Barbara; her father and mother, Stanley and Anna Goike; her brother, Ted Goike; granddaughter, Tammy; her precious granddaughter, Anna; and the love of her life, her husband, Bo Bilsing.

She is survived by her sister, Mary; and her children, Billy and Kay Bilsing, Steve and Arleen Bilsing, Kathryn Bilsing and Jim Dilamarter, Steve Tenalio, Dean and Tracy Bilsing, Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Mark Graham, Paul Bilsing, Karen Bilsing, Cindy Bilsing Mckinzie, Michael Ray and Amber George; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bert and Heather Bilsing, Kimber and Todd Butler, Leah and Kevin Hamill, Adam Bilsing, Andrew Bilsing, Bernie and Lora Smith, Kirk and Stacy Collier, Duncan Wheeler, Sam and Danielle Bilsing, Hugo Bilsing, Gavin Graham, Jessica and Reagan Roberts, Eli Bartnett, Asa Bartnett, Austin Bartnett, Tyler Bartnett, Caleb George, and Artemis Ray; great-grandchildren, Creek and Sawyer Chappell, Bo and Brianna Bilsing, Cassidy Bilsing and fiancé, Hunter Dudley, Serenity, Bryanna and Jimmy Godinez, Chelsea, Emily, Pepper, Dylan, Thatcher, Cameron, Cade, Calle, Sloane, and Braxtin.
