Victor B Kahanek, 92 of Bryan, Texas died on August 15, 2024.

He was born in Taiton, Texas on February 1, 1932 to Ignatz and Ludmilla (Slansky) Kahanek.

He attended El Campo High School, Wharton Junior College and graduated from University of Houston in 1960. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He spent three years in the National Guard as a medic.

Vic married Katherine Janak on October 16, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville, Texas.

He worked for University of Houston for 33 years before retiring in 1989. He moved to Hallettsville, Texas in 1993.

Vic was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Katherine and grandson, Luke Hanson. He is survived by son Kyle Kahanek & wife Debbie of Kingwood, Texas; 2 daughters, Anne Hanson & husband Mark of Griffin, Georgia, Kim Ritchie & husband Dwayne of Anderson, Texas; grandchildren, Kendra Martin (Michael), Kayla Blanchard (Sarah) of Manila, Philippines, Mark Hanson, Jr. (Allie) of Griffin, Georgia. Zachary Ritchie and Jonathan Ritchie of College Station, Texas; granddaughter-in-law Donya Hanson Salman (Troy), of Brooks, Georgia; great-grandchildren Cornelius, Abigail and Samuel Martin; Hadlee, Ryder, and Carter Hanson; Evangeline Salman.
