William "Bill" Taylor Sloan Jr., 63, of College Station passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Visitation will be from 5 â€" 8 pm Friday, July 29, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Bill was born December 18, 1958 in Hearne the son of William Taylor Jr. and Barbara Sloan. He graduated from A&M Consolidated in 1977. He then joined the U.S. Army from 1978 â€" 1982, he was stationed at Ft. Hood 525 M.P. Company 1st Calvary 76545. He served in Germany and was an expert in hand held weapons and explosives. After the military he attended TSTI to become a Diesel mechanic. Bill worked at Texas A&M Transportation Services for 31 years and retired on January 31, 2020. In his free time you would find Bill at Lake Somerville fishing.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Taylor Sloan, Sr.
Bill leaves behind his family to cherish his memories daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bill Thomas; mother, Barbara Sloan; sister, Sharon Pyburn; brother, Steven Sloan; four loving grandchildren, Jeffery Bestor and fiancé Alyssa, Lane Bestor and wife Daniela, Anthony Bestor and fiancé Leslie, and Savannah Thomas; four sweet great-grandchildren, Kayden, Alayna, Jantzen and Waylon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bill's name to Radio MASH Toy Drive. This was something he was very passionate about and did yearly.

GOOD MORNING, SUNSHINE!
Bill had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He could tell you a story straight-faced and you couldn´t tell if he was kidding or not. You could meet him once and you were friends for life. I miss him with his trademark cup of coffee. He will be deeply missed. To the family, you have my dearest sympathy.
