Jeanette Ayers Obituary
Jeanette F. Ayers, age 86, of St. Marys, passed away on Nov. 19, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1938, in Rockford, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Leah (Denman) Winkler. On June 19, 1955, she married Jim L. Ayers, who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2016.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Cathy (Rick) Mullenhour of St. Marys; David (Amy) Ayers of Plain City; and Douglas (Missy) Ayers of St. Marys. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Chris (Heather) Mullenhour, Traverse City, Michigan; Scott (Missy) Mullenhour, Convoy, Ohio; Jason Stienecker, Wapakoneta; Corey Lutterbeck, St. Marys; Amber (Brent Kahlig) Lutterbeck, Coldwater; Michael Ayers, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Adam (Amanda) Ayers, Blacklick; Melissa (Tony) Rohmer, Centerville; Makenzie Ayers, St. Marys; and Emily Ayers, St. Marys. She was also blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren-Samantha, Aubrey, Karlie, Nyah, Matthew, Marcus, Wade, Dustin, Alrik, Mara, Nathaniel, LJ, and Lana-and one more on the way.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Lutterbeck, and her brother, Robert "Bob" Winkler.
Jeanette graduated from Rockford High School in 1956 and later retired after 18 years of service at St. Marys Hardware. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene in St. Marys.
She enjoyed reading, painting, and spending time with her family and friends. Jeanette especially loved weekend trips to Pennsylvania, where one of her favorite stops was Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster. On one memorable trip, she even tried kayaking and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, 1175 E. Greenville Rd., with Pastor Eric Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Private graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Resthaven Memory Gardens in St. Marys.
