Judith Henry Obituary

Judith A. Henry, 70, of Greenville, formerly of New Bremen, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born on May 29, 1951, in Celina, the daughter of the late Elmer L. "Jim" Luedeke and Louise H. (Packer) Luedeke-Wietholter. On Oct. 7, 2000, she married Gary M. Henry, who died on June 11, 2016.
Survivors include her sisters Barbara (Albert "Skip") Fogel of Medina and Delores (Karl) Kittel of Houston, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert "Jim" Luedeke, John Luedeke and Becky Luedeke; her stepfather Clarence H.W. Wietholter and her step-siblings Ron Wietholter and Karen Dunn.
Judy grew up in New Bremen, and was a 1969 graduate of New Bremen High School. After high school, she attended the Lima Beauty Academy and became a licensed cosmetologist. She was first a beautician at Doris' Beauty Shop for several years before going to work at Marcie's Beauty Shop in Minster. She then spent 12 years at The Hair House in New Bremen. Judy had previously been a member of St. Peter's Church in New Bremen, where she served as the church's organist for many years before she became a member of the Ansonia First Church of God. She enjoyed music and taught piano lessons, and she enjoyed her participation in the New Bremen American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to watch Hallmark Christmas movies and game shows on television, and in years past, she was an avid bowler - even serving as the bowling league secretary. Most of all, Judy will be remembered for her sarcastic sense of humor and for her love of cooking and baking, especially her hardtack candy and lemon bars.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Ansonia First Church of God, 750 S. Main St., Ansonia, Ohio 45303, with Pastor Derek Specht officiating. Inurnment will take place in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen at a later date. There will be one hour of calling held at the church on Sunday prior to the services. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen is assisting the family, and online condolences to the family can be left on the funeral home website at GilbergHartwigFH.com.
