Robert "Zuma Bubba" A. Bye, 73, of Montezuma, died at 7:14 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Sept. 14, 1947 in Jay County, Indiana to Ralph and Helen (Huey) Bye.
Survivors include:  daughters Maryann Hesse of St. Marys, Lora Bye of Lima and Sandra (Bret Evans) Bye of Lima; sons Robert (Lisa) Bye of Coldwater, Daniel (Michelle) Trafzer of Jewett, Travis (Kerri) Bye-Stauffer of Montezuma and Michael (Brandi) Bye of Celina; 25 grandchildren (and another due in December); 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Janet Love-Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Joyce Bye of Gaston, Indiana and brothers William Bye of Hartford City, Indiana and Tommy Bye of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Preceded in death by: parents Ralph and Helen Bye; son Bradley "Boo-Boo" Bye and brother Larry Bye.
He was a graduate of Montpelier, Indiana High School (Class of 1965).
A tool-maker, he worked at New Idea in Coldwater and later retired from True-Edge in St. Henry.
Mr. Bye was passionate about his civic duty, having served on the town council for the Village of Montezuma for many years.
His favorite pastimes included fishing on Lake Erie and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Eagles Lodge.
Of great importance to Robert was the fact that he had been recently baptized. The family is confident that he passed peacefully in the arms of his Lord and Savior.
