Lois Ledford

FRANKLIN - Lois Stockton Ledford, 93, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025.
She was a lifelong resident of Macon County, born to the late Ervin and Bertha Carpenter Stockton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 63 years, Rev. Charles Ledford; infant son, William Ernest Ledford; sister, Vaughn Sanders; and son-in law, Jerry Miller.
Lois was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and lived in the Skeenah community all of her life.
She loved sewing, reading and solving crossword and word search puzzles. In her later years she loved working for the Older American Program through the U.S. Forest Service. Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all, but she is at peace and free from her earthly bonds.
She is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" (Kathy) Ledford of Clayton, Georgia, Sandra Miller of Lancaster, South Carolina, Karen (Don) Biddix of Sylva, Diane (Allan) Shields of Franklin and Floyd (Kim) Ledford of Franklin; grandchildren, Chris (Molly) Ledford, Jeff Keener, Robbie (Marian) Miller, Brandon Miller, Angie (Roy) Shook, Donna (Chip) Cogdill, Becky (Joey) Bryson, Crystal Anders, Daniel (Shea) Shields and Emily (Adam) Parris; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Zane, Christopher, Jacob, Keith, Natasha, Toby, Andrew, Trevor, Paige, Trenton, Katelyn, Trinity, Elijah, Isaiah, Olivia, Max and Nora; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 17, at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3 p.m. Reverend Aaron Bridges officiated.
The family would like to thank the Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers, Sandra Shepherd, Connie Hall and Joey and The Community Care Team for all their kindness, care, love and support.
