Jamie Renee (Beistline) Mitchell, age 59, of Mechanicsburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Jamie was born on Monday, July 18, 1966, in Mechanicsburg to the late James Roy Beistline and Barbara Suzanne (Yost) Beistline.
Jamie’s survivors include her husband of 32 years, Todd V. Mitchell of Carlisle; her two loving daughters: Paige J. Rhoads and husband Zachery, of Mechanicsburg, Natalie J. Mitchell and her partner Meagan Smith, of Mechanicsburg; her two beloved grandchildren: Charlotte Rhoads, Jameson Rhoads; her devoted sister: Michele L. Motter and husband Andrew, of Mechanicsburg; her best friend of 46 years Diann Shearer, of Mechanicsburg; numerous cousins; and several nieces and nephews. Jamie is also survived by her cherished grand puppy, Willow.
Jamie graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1984. Jamie found her greatest joy in the presence of her family. She cherished simple quality time, especially in moments spent outdoors. The quiet beauty of time by the creek was a beloved retreat, a place where she felt most at peace. Her dedication to those she loved was perhaps most evident in the kitchen. Jamie was a master of comfort food, and her culinary talents were legendary among friends and family. A request for her famous beef vegetable soup, a perfectly layered lasagna, or her chicken pot pie was never denied. After a filling meal she would be sure to top it off with a warm apple pie. Jamie was an avid sports fan. She was a lover of all sports, football being her favorite as she cheered on Alabama Roll Tide on Saturdays and the Green Bay Packers on Sundays. Game days in her home were vibrant, loud, and full of spirited debate. She was also loyal to the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Flyers watching as many games as possible.
All are welcome to join Jamie's family at her celebration of life open house on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Eckels Ice Cream Fountain, 36 E. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055.
