Winifred Yordy Obituary
She was born March 16,1933, in Warsaw, New York.
Winnie was predeceased by her mother, Elma La-France, and husband, John Yordy.
Survivors include her stepson, Frank Little of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; nieces, Patricia (Tom) Wilcox of Franklin, Kathleen (Joe) Hansen of Florida and Susan (John) Zelenak of Estero, Florida; many great-nieces and nephews; as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.
She received a BS from State University of New York at Oswego, and a MS from S.U. of New York at Brockport. She taught for 43 years, most of those years she taught at Fort Myers Beach Elementary at Fort Myers Beach, Florida. She was greatly loved by her students, as she truly loved them too. She kept in touch with well over 100 of them on Facebook during her final years.
A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Appalachian Animal Rescue Center, 851 Lake Emory Road, Franklin, NC.
