Brian Stamp Obituary

Brian Robert Stamp, 42, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom: 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Brian was born on Dec. 11, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Steven and Lynn (Cropp) Stamp. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School, and then attended Brown Institute in Minnesota. Brian earned a degree in radio broadcasting. He was employed at CCB Packaging. Brian enjoyed music, DJ'ing, gymnastics, skateboarding, biking, walking, camping with family and friends, painting model figures, poetry and movies. He is survived by his parents, Lynn and Steven Stamp of Marion, Iowa; a sister, Kelly (Travis) Valley and their five kids all of South Carolina; two aunts, Julie Whitlatch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Terry Sloan of Colorado; his uncle, Russ (Cheryl) Stamp of Washington; several cousins; and his beloved cat "Lil Girl Missy Stamp." Preceded by a sister, Kristin Stamp; uncle, Tom Whitlatch; his grandparents, Evelyn and Howard Cropp; and Joan and Robert Stamp. Brian led a simple life and was a hard worker. He cared deeply for his friends and family and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Linn Community Food Bank.
