Charlotte Stanford Obituary

Charlotte Stanford passed away peacefully at Hiawatha Care Center on Feb. 15, 2025. Char was born in Newhall to Everett & Mabel Kunstorf. She was raised on the family farm and enjoyed her humble beginnings. She married Richard in 1959 and had three children, Robin Clinton (Houston), Terri (Bob) Hirschfeld (SD) and Steve Stanford (Houston), raising their family in Hiawatha. Char had a wonderful artistic talent and could make just about anything. She was famous for her handmade cards and her caring heart. She always took care of her friends, family and neighbors. Char was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and grandson. She leaves behind her children and grandchildren, Cydney Clinton, Zachary Hirschfeld and Nathan Hirschfeld, who were the light of her life. Respecting her wishes, there will be no service. The family would like to thank the Staff at Hiawatha Care Center for all their love and support.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. Char was such a wonderful friend to our mom (Pat Kaiser), they adored each other. About 10 years ago, my mom and I walked over to visit Char with my daughter, who was two at the time. Char was so sweet to her and insisted on finding something to give her. Char found a little teddy bear and we still have it. She was always so sweet to us as kids. I remember her always smiling, she was so welcoming and kind. May she rest in eternal peace.

This family photo of everyone wearing a wig like hers is iconic. And when I need a chuckle, I remember Robin´s story about Charlotte´s relationship with Alexa. Her smile was always what laughter sounds like. I am so sorry for your loss.
