Colin Taylor Obituary

Colin Marten Taylor, age 31, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on June 15 surrounded by his close family. Colin brought joy and kindness into every situation and loved making others laugh with his antics. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bragging about dunking on LeBron, and spending time with his friends and family, including his puppy Josie. Colin was a 2011 graduate of Kennedy High School where he was an accomplished member of Happiness Inc. as well as a member of the State Championship baseball team. He was a proud member of the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame, and he made many memories with his softball family over the years. It's impossible to put into words how much he will be missed, and a bright light went out of the world when he passed. Survivors include his wife Emily of Robins, parents Bonnie and John Taylor of Robins, brother Robert (Haley) Taylor of Cedar Rapids and their children Winston and Harper, grandmother Jo Martens of Cedar Rapids, and parents-in-law Joni and Greg Sohl of Cedar Rapids. Colin is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents Don and MaryAlida Taylor, maternal grandfather Ray Martens, and cousin Matt Taylor. A private memorial service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A public celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
