Marty Willett Obituary

Marty "Butch" Willett, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-6 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Eagles Club in Cedar Rapids, IA. Butch was hard working, dependable and just an all-around great guy. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lisa (Hoffman) Willett; daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Lehnhardt; son Adam (Jackie) Willett; his grandchildren, Ian, River, Reese, Naomi, Olivia and Teal; his mother, Dixie Willett; sisters, Robin (Paul) Morris, Gail "Babe" Martens; his brother Chad (Jody) Willett; and many, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Tony Willett, his sister Laura "Sis" Gilmore and his grandparents Rene and Marie Bazyn. Butch had a warmth that drew people towards him. He was always quick with a smile and a joke. His joyful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorials can be made directly to the family via Venmo @Butch-Willett-family

He was a great guy from elementary when I knew him until the last day he lived. I knew him b. sissy all my life n u will never meet two more great people.

Marty shared several mornings with me in a duck blind. He was hunting with me, when my young lab retrieved a banded goose that Marty had shot. He will be truly missed be all who knew him.
