Mary Shade Obituary
HENDERSON, KENTUCKY - Mary Rose Shade, 89, of Henderson, Kentucky, died peacefully Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the home of her son Paul Shade and his wife, Tana.
She was a faithful member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Rosie's devotion to her faith lead her to volunteer and serve in many church and charitable organizations in her community. Much of her life was spent in dedication and love to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosie found great joy playing cards, sewing for others, making custom cards, and growing her Catholic faith with friends and family which was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, H. Charles "Charlie" Shade; infant son, Matthew Shade; granddaughter, Carrie Farmer; son-in-law, Roy Farmer; parents, Charles and Evelyn Murphy McKune; brothers, Father William McKune and Don McKune; and sisters, Catherine Campbell, Evelyn Marie McKune, and LaVerne Doyle.
Survivors include fourteen children, Terry Farmer, Phil Shade and his wife, Jan, Jean Carver and her husband, Terry, all of Henderson, Kentucky, Ann Kauffeld and her husband, Kevin, of Paducah, Kentucky, Jack Shade and his wife, Rita, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Rita Hall and her husband, Mike, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Paul Shade and his wife, Tana, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Sue Mattingly and her husband, Harold, Nancy Marx and her husband, Frank, Alice Shade, Carol Steiden and her husband, Paul, all of Louisville, Kentucky, Joe Shade and his wife, Tamrya, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Judy Regan and her husband, Brian, of Geneva, Illinois, and Sally Shade and her fiancé, Pat McAnulty, of Louisville, Kentucky; 53 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Larry McBride will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the church. A rosary will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by the mass.
Contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Mrs Shade was always a joy to meet at Sts Peter & Paul. She was a lady of faith and grace, a blessing. I will offer my Eucharistic Holy Hour here (2-3pm Monday, October 5--during her funeral there) for her and for her family. May she rest in the peace of Christ.

Mrs. Shade was such a wonderful woman and has a beautiful family. I will always remember how nice she was when I saw her. She always treated us like family. Well, we pretty much were. My condolences to all of the family.
