CAROL SOWA Obituary

CAROL SOWA April 9, 1948 - November 10, 2025 Carol Ann Sowa passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Worcester, Mass., at the Rose Monaghan Hospice House. Carol was a compassionate and gentle soul who cared deeply for both people and animals. She had a lifelong love of travel and the outdoors, especially the beach. Growing up, she cherished summers spent with her family at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, and later enjoyed visiting the beaches of Cape Cod and Florida. She also treasured family gatherings in Vermont, where she created many joyful memories with her extended family. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, Carol formed lasting friendships in both Massachusetts and Florida. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1966 and continued her education at Quinsigamond Community College. Over the years, she worked as a medical secretary before transitioning to a fulfilling career as a librarian at the South Yarmouth Library on Cape Coda role that matched her love of learning and connection to others. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Hazel Crepeau, and by her beloved husband, Edward Sowa, who passed away in October 2020. She leaves behind her brother, Robert Crepeau; her sister-in-law, Linda Crepeau; her nieces, Abby and Jenny Crepeau Lalor; and six grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom loved her deeply. A Mass and celebration of life will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in North Grafton after the holidays. Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents in Saint John's Cemetery in Worcester.
