Barbara Brosell Obituary
Barbara L. Heck Brosell (nee Murnick), at the age of 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet.
She was born on February 15, 1931, the daughter of Michael and Susie (nee Thomas) Murnick, in Pana, IL. Barbara grew up in the Joliet area, graduated from Joliet Central High School and attended Joliet Junior College. Her love of books and reading lead her to a long career at the Burr Oak Library System. She retired after more than 20 dedicated years as a Processing Clerk. When she wasn't reading, Barbara enjoyed traveling to see her family in Canada. Her home was often filled will several cats that she loved taking care of.
Barbara is survived by her only son, her pride and joy, Bruce L. (Lana Bamert) Heck, of Channahon, IL. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded by her parents; her daughter-in-law, Theresa L. Heck; her three brothers, Michael (Josephine) Murnick, George Murnick, and Frank (Jean) Murnick; and her six sisters, Mary (Robert) Rohr, Susan (Jerome) Celenti, Betty (Robert) Zing, Katherine (Leo) Lasko, Millile (Ambrose) Mahalik, and Ann (Joseph) Pavletich.
Visitation for Barbara L. Heck Brosell will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for interment on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
