Charles Clarke Anderson
Charles Clarke Anderson, age 85, passed away at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
Survived by his wife, Sophie Anderson (nee Konjevich); his children, Richard (Sherry) Anderson, Barbara (Wesley) Miller, Walter Anderson and Mary (Ted) Teberg; his grandchildren, Shawna (Vinnie) DeSecki, Cody (Alison) Anderson, Bryce Anderson, Nik Miller, Milo Miller, Sara Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Tim Anderson, Tessa Teberg and Tommy Teberg; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, James, Mallory, Beckham, Nash, Oakley and Leon; his sisters, Marjorie Morris and Katharine Rushing. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter P. and Alice (nee Friend) Anderson; his sister, Virgina Louise (H. Dale) Blythe; his brother-in-law, James Rushing and his lifelong friend, Ronald Risch.
Charles was born in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1935. He attended Foss Grade School, Plainfield High School, class of 1953, Joliet Junior College and University of Illinois. Charles was an honored athlete during high school, he played both football and basketball. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1957-1958 as an expert sharpshooter. Charles was a brick layer for Local 14 for 45 years. He also farmed his land in both Plainfield and Channahon. Charles was very active in his established family businesses, Manor INN and Manor Motel in Channahon, IL.
Funeral service for Charles will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of services. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II (Hills of Rest). In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or a
charity of your choice would be appreciated.
In accordance with the current COVID-19 guidelines, all attendees will be required to wear a face mask and observe social distancing while in the funeral home.
