Darlene L. Bricker
Darlene Bricker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. Born and raised in Chicago, lived in the southwest suburbs most of her life before moving to Lockport in 2005.
Darlene's greatest joy was her family. Any day spent with family was always a great day in her life. Her love of books, especially mystery novels, was her favorite source of entertainment. The books she read over her lifetime could fill a library. She was a loyal fan of Jeopardy, rarely missing an episode and often beating those actually playing the game. Darlene found joy sharing a cup of coffee and a donut with those she loved, and was always patient and kind to those who crossed her path. She enjoyed a nice night out for dinner and a play at Drury Lane. And she couldn't pass up a shrimp dinner, Chinese food or a rack of ribs. She was excited when the phone rang and a member of the family was calling to fill her in on their life or bring her exciting news about the next great-grandchild (one is due in November).
Preceded in death by her mother, Louise Morgan; and her beloved grandparents, Benjamin and Clara Morgan.
Survived by her four devoted children, D.T. (Karen) Bricker of Monument, CO, Debbie (Mike) Derkacy of Worth, IL, Diana (Dermot) Pelletier of Mansfield Center, CT, and Dave (Sue) Bricker of Lockport, IL; 11 grandchildren, Amanda (Craig) Doerr, Kelsey (Sean) Dolan, Brady (Erika) Miller, John (Maryann) Stein, Tricia (Jason) Tinman, Jason (Julanne Batterton) Navarrete, Robyn Navarrete, Stephen (Jaykaye) Pelletier, Christian (Elizabeth) Pelletier, Kaity Bricker and Rachel Bricker; seven great grandchildren, Kymberly, Hadyn, Harper, Caleb, Noah, Nora and Breccan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL, 60441 from 2:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 6:00pm.
