Died: March 15, 2016
David G. "Whitey" Gregory, died at home after a brief illness. Known as "Whitey" to family and friends, he was a kind, loving husband to his wife, Kimberly (Kabat), and a strong, caring father to daughter, Molly, and son, David Parker Gregory. A 1977 Joliet West graduate, Whitey played semi-pro hockey, loved to golf, and was a Local 444 Ironworker until starting his own construction and commercial development business. Always devoted to his family, friends, and community, he will be sorely missed.
Preceded by his mother, Constance (Karstens) Gregory; brother, Douglas E. Gregory; and mother-in-law, Josephine Kabat.
Survived by his father, Ronald J. Gregory, Sr.; sister, Joyce Gregory; four brothers, Timothy (Kim), Patrick (Nancy), Donald "Doc" (Kim), and Ronald; sister-in-law, Roberta Gregory; brother-in-law, Greg Kabat. Nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for David G. Gregory will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Fr. Dennis Paul officiating. As it was Whitey's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Visitation Tuesday, 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

To Kim and the entire Gregory family, I am so saddened by the passing of Whitey, I have the best of memories of our younger years. Whitey was like a brother to me, as I remember all the many parties we had on Westshire Dr. He was a great friend to my family, and was considered another son to Betty and Pidge. He gave me a nickname when I was much younger and until this day, many only know me by the name Squatie. He was a brother to me and a brother Ironworker to Paul. Rest in peace Whitey.
