Dennis Flatt Obituary
Preceded in death by his son, Dennis D. Flatt; sister, Mary F. Stadler; sister- in-law, Donna J. McMahan; Mother, Kay (Ryan) Pulley; step-father, Harvey Pulley; Father, Burdette Flatt; and step-mother Virginia Flatt.
Survived by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Joan M. (Collins) Flatt; his loving children, Michael E. Kelly (Nancy) of Plainfield, Lynn M. Schuler (Bill) of Minooka, James J. Kelly of Crest Hill, Beth A. Laken (Stan) of Plainfield, Ken E. Flatt of Crest Hill, Richard L. Flatt (Julie) of Lake Station, IN; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Flatt of Joliet; brothers-in-laws, Robert McMahan of Braidwood and Donald Stadler of Rockdale. Grandpa Flatt is survived by 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. Numerous caring nieces, nephews and cousins, also survive.
Dennis was an Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict stationed in Japan. Dennis was a salesman's salesman working for many years for Goldblatt's and Carpetland USA. He was an award winning photographer, very talented woodcrafter, and an excellent cook. Dennis also enjoyed many years on the water with his boat the "Joan Marie."
Funeral Services for Dennis B. Flatt will be Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to Children's Memorial Hospital or Joliet Area Community Hospice in Dennis' name would be appreciated.

Dad,
Easter is this Sunday and it will be the first Holiday without you. I will miss your ham and avocado dip I hope to do it justice.
We will have your picture boards with us, to assure us of your presence. It is supposed to rain/snow, so yes we will have rain for the next 7 Sundays, as you would always profess.
We all miss you, but mostly Mom. We will look after her as you requested in your last days. I love you th...........is much...
