Don's greatest joy was attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. Don was a long time season pass holder for the Joliet Jackhammers, you'd be sure to see him several times a week watching a game. He loved going almost daily to Teardrop Café and Cherry Hill Café, breakfast at one place and lunch at the other. He got a kick out of being "Facebook famous" on more than one occasion his bill would be paid by someone that recognized him from his Facebook pictures that his daughter would post. Don bowled twice a week for over 40 years until 2020 and he sure missed those days. He was a big time Cubs fan and watched most games with is daughter Lisa. Don was born January 3, 1938 and was graduate of Joliet Township High School He worked at Commonwealth Edison Dresden station until his retirement 30 years ago. Don proudly served in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school. He met his sweetheart when he came home on leave, when her family moved right across the street from his family's home. They married in 1961 and raised two wonderful daughters. Don was a wonderful provider, husband, father and grandfather, taking care of his wife through her cancer journey and passing in 2002. Seeing his beautiful bride in heaven was all he talked about during his final days. They are finally together again.
