Elizabeth A. Anderson
Elizabeth A. Anderson, nee Bischman, age 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2020. As a lifelong resident of Lockport, she went to St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Lockport High School. She was an avid gardener and loved her son Bob's strawberries. She was part of a Card Club that had been meeting for 75 years and was also part of the Women's Club of Lockport and was recently given an award for 75 years of service. She was part of the Garden Club, Lockport Historical Society, a tour guide at the I-M Canal Museum and was a Girl Scout's Leader.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Robert (Carolyn Nichols) Anderson and Ellen (Leonard Nixon) Tierney; grandchildren Theresa (Jason) Thormeyer, Tony Tierney and Stephen Tierney; great-grandchildren Laurelei, Sophia and Gunnar Thormeyer, and Liam and Caleb Tierney; nieces and nephews Arthur Jr., June (the Late Pat), and Judy Anderson, and Tony (Vickie), Jim (Cheryl), Larry (Juli) and Marty (Laura) Furlan.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband Willard A. Anderson; parents Anna and Edmund Bischman; sister Adaline (Tony) Furlan and son-in-law William Tierney.
Visitation Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Goodale Memorial Chapel from 4-7 pm **Masks are required** and Mass of Christian Burial Friday at St. Joseph Church in Lockport at 11 am, followed by interment at Lockport City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice (
