I met Erich in June 2010 when we opened Rivers casino in Pittsburgh. We became friends right away and shared lots of really good times over the next 2 years. Erich was a very good friend and coworker and I will truly miss him. R.I.P. Erich

Dear Missel family, I first had the pleasure of meeting Erich in the fall of 2010 at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. I was a brand new craps dealer and Erich managed my table probably more than 50 times. I struggled in the beginning, and Erich was always kind to me and offered positive and constructive teaching and feedback. He always stuck by and stood up for his dealers. I was the Pirates batboy as a kid, so we became instant friends because of our shared love for baseball. Over his stay at Rivers, Erich and I became very close. When he went on vacation in the summer of 2011, I went over his apartment every day to feed and take care of Lucy and Peyton. I can't tell you how many times Erich and I would meet up for a beer and watch the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates. And his beloved Cubbies, if we were lucky enough to find them on Pittsburgh tv. I am saddened more than words can express over his passing. I want to express my greatest sympathy to you, his family, and especially his mom who he loved greatly and talked about lovingly. I will keep Erich alive in my heart and memory until I get to see him again.
