Age 70, passed away Saturday August 20, 2022 at the Cottages of New Lenox.
Survived by her two children Laura (Travis) Broadwell and Joseph (Judi Gollick) Broadwell Jr; sisters Lou Ann Pleshe and Mary Beth Velleux; one brother Joseph Dwyer; her special someone for many years Ronnie Wortman; dearest best lifelong friend Deborah Mackey Penegor. Numerous nieces and nephews along with her fur legged companions Pugsley and Dillon also survive.
Preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Broadwell Sr., Donald Wren and James "Bones" Kennedy; parents Donald and Helen (Taylor) Dwyer; two brothers William and Robert Dwyer; one sister Susan Oram; nephew Ryan Velleux and special friend Naomi Skeldon .
Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Geri graduated from St. Mary's Carmelite School and Joliet Central High School. Geri was a faithful employee of the U.S. Post Office in Joliet retiring after 20 years. She loved working in the garden and spending time at the Kankakee River with family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held, Wednesday August 24, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, with a service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials to the Will County Humane Society would be appreciated. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I´m so sorry for your loss. Though I only knew her for a year or so, she was so absolutely sweet, sassy and had some zingers! She was always good for a laugh, hug or hand hold. She will be missed.
