Hallie Curtis Obituary

Curtis, Hallie B. Born into time April 10, 1935 to Clarence and Etta Pierce of Louin, Mississippi. She was the fourth child of ten children. Hallie attended Belhaven School, and joined the Community Center Baptist Church at a young age. She passed away February 21, 2012. Once Hallie became an adult she relocated to Chicago, IL, and later moved to Joliet, IL where she became an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for the past 55 years. Hallie was also a community activist, and did volunteer work for Catholic Charities as a Senior Citizen Companion. Her wonderful efforts were acknowledged through certificates received from the organization. Hallie is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Etta Pierce, one son, David "Rickey" Curtis, one son-in-law, Marvin French, four brothers; Billy James, Charles John, Samuel, and Emmanuel Pierce, and one sister, Mada Pierce. She leaves to cherish precious memories former husband, Philip Curtis, five children: Ernestine French of Atlanta, Georgia, Gregory Thompson of Minooka, IL, Lora A. Winters (Lonnie) Joliet, IL, Timothy Curtis of Detroit, Michigan, and Jenniece Holman (Anthony) of Joliet, IL; her siblings: Ister Smith (Milton) of Country Club Hills, Elijah Pierce of Louin, MS, Arthur Pierce (Edwina) of Louin, MS, Elvira Taylor (Michael) of South Holland, IL, and sister in law Idell Pierce of Chicago, IL. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to celebrate her life. Visitation Monday, February 27, 2012 from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday, February 28, 2012 10:00 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 402 Singleton Pl., Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 a.m., Pastor David G. Latimore, officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery. Minor-Morris Funeral Home 112 Richards St. (815) 723-1283

I love you with all my heart and I'm so thankful for your love and wisdom glad I spent as much time as I did and called as much as I could remember before 1pm cause that when you went to the lobby it's be hard for me to transition but I love you unconditionally and eternally, BYE BYE for now:-) My beautiful angel!!!!
