Hannelore Marianne (Dibbel) Bonick 84, formerly of Lockport, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Facility in Madisonville, KY.
She was born in Hamburg-Altona, Germany on November 28, 1939 to the late Johann Dibbel and Luise (Peters) Dibbel. Growing up in Germany, "Lori" as she was called, worked as a bank teller and in the dietary department of a psychiatric facility. While in Germany, she met the love of her life Ronald Bonick. She moved to the United States with him in 1983. Lori became a US citizen. She worked for many years as a housekeeper and a nanny. She and Ron had many adventures from cruises, trips out west and visiting Germany several times. She loved her gardening, canning, cooking, old westerns and most of all she was an avid animal lover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, and her sister Elke. She is survived by her stepson, Bryant Bonick of Oberhausen-Rheinhausen, Germany, sister-in-law Meri (Les) Herndon of Ossain, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Lori was a wonderful, caring person who will be greatly missed by many.
There will be no services. The family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter or favorite charity of your choice in her name.
